Ji'an, Jilin

Ji'an is a county-level city in Jilin province, People's Republic of China.
It belongs to the prefecture-level city of Tonghua.
Ji'an has an area of and a population of approximately 230,000.
The city was established as a city in 1988.

Ji'an is separated from North Korea by the Yalu River.
It has an annual average temperature of and an average annual precipitation of .

Until 427 CE, Ji'an was the capital of Goguryeo, and was called Gungnae seong , for 400 years until the capital's relocation to Hwando fortress in 209 CE.
The Capital Cities and Tombs of the Ancient Koguryo Kingdom, located in Ji'an Jilin and Huanren Manchu Autonomous County Liaoning, have been listed as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
